Flight to Arunachal Pradesh

Making a history, the Government of India added a significant milestone in building air connectivity to a North Eastern state of India-the Arunachal Pradesh under the Udan Scheme. Direct flight service between Guwahati and Pasighat in Arunachal Pradesh was  formally started as its first flight from Guwahati  landed at Pasighat Airport in Arunachal Pradesh On 24^th May, 2021. Initially the scheme will connect the state with Guwahati and Kolkata. In the subsequent stage, Pasighat Airport will be directly connected with Shillong and Tezu in Arunachal Pradesh Airport will be linked with Guwahati.

Again, under the Regional Connectivity Scheme of UDAN, the first commercial flight landed in Rupsi Airport in Dhubri District of Assam on 8^th  May 2021.  It is expected that the direct flights from other parts of the country to the border states and remote parts of the country  will boost the economic opportunities in the region.
